Our journey began when we realized good food shouldn’t come with compromises. It started with a shift in how we were eating. Cutting out refined sugars, processed ingredients, and anything that made us feel like we had to choose between flavor and health.
But once we started reading labels more closely, we discovered how limited the options really were. Even the “healthy” foods on the shelves were packed with preservatives, seed oils, and ingredients we couldn’t pronounce. And the store-bought alternatives? They often tasted like chemicals with a strange aftertaste and came with a premium price tag. That’s when we decided to make our own.
What began in our own kitchen (just a mother and daughter figuring it out), quickly became something bigger. We weren’t just making jams or baked goods; we were crafting something we could feel good about sharing. Real ingredients. NO shortcuts! And always, always made by hand.
Today, Love Less Sugar is about more than just what’s in the jar or on the plate. It’s about how food makes you feel—physically, emotionally, and even communally. And we’re proud to bring that same intention into every batch.
We believe the best food starts with the best ingredients. Nothing refined, nothing artificial, and nothing we wouldn’t use in our own home.
In our jams, you’ll find just a handful of ingredients: organic fruit, a touch of organic agave nectar, and a citrus-based pectin for that perfect set. That’s it. Our fruit is sourced from a family-run farm in the Pacific Northwest that hasn’t used pesticides since the 1970's because clean growing practices matter just as much as clean labels. No cane sugar, no fillers, and no artificial preservatives.
For our baked goods, we sweeten exclusively with organic coconut sugar. Organic coconut sugar is a sustainable, low-glycemic sweetener harvested using environmentally conscious methods. It’s rich in minerals, gentle on blood sugar, and best of all, it doesn’t taste like coconut. Its mild, caramel-like flavor lets the ingredients shine, without overwhelming them.
You won’t find seed oils, sugar alcohols, or strange additives in our recipes. Just honest ingredients, thoughtfully chosen because we don’t just want our food to taste good, we want it to feel good, too.

No. Our jams are made without refined sugar. We use just ripe fruit, a touch of organic agave, and citrus pectin for texture.
Many of our customers with sugar concerns enjoy our jams because they’re lower in sugar than traditional brands. We sweeten only to taste with agave, not cane sugar. Everyone’s needs are different though, so please check with your doctor.
Unopened, they’re shelf-stable for 8–12 months. Once opened, refrigerate and enjoy within about 6 weeks for best flavor.
We keep it simple: small batches, whole fruit, no preservatives, no seed oils, and no refined sugar. Each jar tastes like homemade — because it is.
Yes! We also craft seasonal sauces, pie fillings, and small-batch baked goods — all made by hand with the same less-sugar promise.
